The fine print

BASICS:
Pick the outcome of all of the games in this years NCAA Men's basketball tournament by filling in a bracket. You can add and edit your bracket up until the start of the first game of the tournament, at that time your picks are locked for the tournament.

SCORING:
Entries are given points for every correct pick by round...
first round 1 point,
second round 2 points,
sweet sixteen 3 points,
elite eight 4 points,
final four 5 points,
championship game 6 points

RANKING:
The entries are ranked by accumlated points, the entry with the most points at the end of the tournament wins.

TIE BREAKING:
If there is a tie for first or second place it is decided by comparing only the points accumulated in the final 3 games (the final four), if a tie remains it is decided by comparing only the points accumulated in the final 7 games (the elite eight), if a tie remains it is considered unbreakable.

FEES:
The fee is $15 per entry, all money goes towards the prizes

PRIZES:
- If there are no ties for first or second place: the winning entry receives the entire pot less $50, and the second place entry receives $50
Ex. If the pot was $400 and the top of the standing looks like this...
Team A - 90 pts - $350
Team B - 80 pts - $50
Team C - 70 pts - $0

- If there is a two team tie for first place: The winner after the tie breaker receives all of the pot minus $50 and the tie breaker loser gets $50, if there is unbreakable tie for first the two team split the enitire pot. Those who were not tied for first before the tie breaker receive no money.
Ex. If the pot was and the top of the standing looks like this...
Team A - 90 pts - $350 (tie breaker winner)
Team B - 90 pts - $50 (tie breaker loser)
Team C - 70 pts - $0
Ex. If the pot was $400 and the top of the standing looks like this...
Team A - 90 pts - $200 (unbreakable tie)
Team B - 90 pts - $200 (unbreakable tie)
Team C - 70 pts - $0

- If there is tie between three or more team tie for first place: all involved in the tie get $50, and the winner after the tie breaker receives all of the remaining pot, if an unbreakable tie remains then those involved in the unbreakable tie split the remainder of the pot equally. Those who were not tied for first before the tie breaker receive no money.
Ex. If the pot was $400 and the top of the standing looks like this...
Team A - 90 pts - $300 (tie breaker winner)
Team B - 90 pts - $50 (tie breaket loser)
Team C - 90 pts - $50 (tie breaker loser)
Team D - 70 pts - $0
Ex. If the pot was $400 and the top of the standing looks like this...
Team A - 90 pts - $175 (unbreakable tie)
Team B - 90 pts - $175 (unbreakable tie)
Team C - 90 pts - $50 (tie breaker loser)
Team D - 70 pts - $0

- If there is a tie for second place, but no tie for first place: the first place winner get the entire pot less $50, and the winner of the second place tie breaker gets , if an unbreakable tie remains the entries locked in the unbreakable tie split $50
